The Vanhunks Afro Wave SUP: A High Performance Epoxy Wave Board
AFRO EPOXY SUP
Our Carbon Fiber Afro wave SUP has been performing well in comps and on the local breaks, and riders love the light weight of this comp-class advanced wave SUP. So, we thought we’d level the playing field and make it more affordable by bringing you an epoxy version of our high-performance wave SUP.
“We tucked the tail in and gave it a straighter rail to establish some more grip on the water for tighter turns,” says Cobus van Zyl, the man driving the boat at Vanhunks Boarding. “Just because our wave SUP is not carbon anymore doesn’t mean it’s not a strong board either. The new epoxy Afro wave SUP has a similar weight to to its carbon predecessor and the design tweaks have also made room for more speed,” adds Cobus.
The epoxy Afro wave SUP is stable and fast on take off, and is a nimble bottom turner. This wave SUP is especially fun for catching speed off your edges to power up the face and hit the lip with clean control. If you enjoyed the rapid acceleration of the carbon wave SUP tail, we think you’re going to be happy with the tail tuck we’ve given to the epoxy Afro.
Vanhunks’ epoxy Afro wave SUP still sports the signature single concave nose, double concave center combo with fuller rails and extra width in the paddler section, and a rocker line perfect for tight pockets.
Enjoy controlled bottom turns and barrels for days on the new epoxy Afro wave SUP, which is available in 9’1 and 9’6.
